Fishtrap Resort of Boulder Junction, Wisconsin!

Back in the 1930s, a Chicago-based sportswriter who regularly vacationed in the Boulder Junction area, coined the phrase "Musky Capital of the World" to describe his favorite fishing destination.  Local resorts picked up on the idea and over the course of the next 11 or 12 years, used the term intermittently on their promotional literature.

Our small, quiet resort, located just 4 miles from Boulder Junction, is nestled amongst towering pines and birch trees on Fishtrap Lake, Fishtrap Lake accesses High Lake and the Manitowish River.  All are abundant in a large variety of fish such as Musky, Walleye, Bass, and Panfish.  (Lake maps provided upon check-in).  The river also provides a scenic and peaceful canoe route.

Fishing bait, license and supplies are available at Northern Highland Sport (715) 385-2134.  Located in Boulder Junction, just 3 miles from our resort. Horse back riding through the forest with in minutes or our Resort. Grassy Creek Ranch 715-385-9389 or 715-614-1438 call for reservations.

Each cottage is fully furnished and comes with a 14' aluminum boat (upon request only), life vests and has its own dock.  (To rent deluxe fishing boats, ski boats or pontoon boats, contact BOULDER MARINE Center at (715)-385-2177.

Kitchens are fully equipped including toaster, microwave & coffeemaker, cookware, dinnerware, silverware & utensils.  Bed linen is provided.  Please bring your personal and kitchen towels, paper goods, and soaps. WIRELESS INTERNET.

Our secluded resort has a private boat launch, fish cleaning house, BBQ grills, lawn chairs, playgrounds, canoes and paddleboats. Outboard motors. (Reservations recommended).  Gasoline is available for guests renting boats or motors.  Campfires are held several times a week on the beach. Wireless Internet

We accept, travelers checks, personal checks and cash.

How to reserve a cabin
A $250 deposit for 2 bedroom cabins are required and $500 deposit for the 4 bedroom cabin and the 5 bedroom house is required.  We will send you a confirmation by email or by mail after your deposit is received.  

Cancellation Policy
Your deposit will gladly be returned provided we can re-rent for the reserved time, less a $20 administration fee.
